Kieran McKenna Commits to Leading Ipswich Town into Premier League

Kieran McKenna expresses his excitement in leading Ipswich into the Premier League after signing a new four-year contract at Portman Road. The 38-year-old manager guided Ipswich to a second successive promotion this season, sparking interest from clubs like Brighton, Chelsea, and Manchester United.

McKenna’s Statement

McKenna shared his pride in signing the new contract, stating, “We have enjoyed incredible success together over the last two seasons, and I’m excited to lead this fantastic club into its first season in the Premier League in 22 years.”

Commitment to Ipswich Town

McKenna’s extended deal at Ipswich secures his position at the club until the summer of 2028. In addition, assistant manager Martyn Pert, first-team coaches Charlie Turnbull and Lee Grant, and head of goalkeeping Rene Gilmartin have also extended their contracts.

Club’s Perspective

Ipswich chief executive Mark Ashton expressed delight in McKenna’s commitment, emphasizing the importance of continuity and preparation for the club’s first Premier League season in a generation.

Following their promotion from League One, Ipswich finished as runners-up in the Championship, showcasing an impressive performance with the lowest number of losses in the league and a division-high of 92 goals scored.
