Despite high expectations, world number one Nelly Korda faced challenges early on. After starting with a bogey, Korda struggled on the par-three 12th hole, eventually finishing eight over par.
Players like Yuka Saso and Nelly Korda navigated through the revised and lengthened Lancaster Country Club, which now stands at 6,583 yards. England’s Jodi Ewart Shadoff and Ireland’s Leona Maguire also faced their own challenges, finishing with scores of two-over-par 72 and three-over-par 73, respectively.
